Jana Beňová (1974) is one of the most acclaimed Slovak authors. Her novel Seeing People Off (Plán odprevádzania/Café Hyena 2008) received the European Union Literature Prize in 2012 and has been translated into ten languages, including English, German, French and Arabic. A poet and a novelist who has published three poetry collections and four novels (Seeing People Off, Away! Away!, Parker and Honeymoon), Beňová has worked as an editor with the daily SME and the Theatre Institute and as a columnist with the independent daily Denník N.
