Viliam Klimáček (1958) is a playwright, author, director, and theater manager. In 1985 he co-founded GUnaGU, the premier experimental theater in Slovakia, which exclusively stages new plays by Slovak playwrights. Klimáček has written more than fifty plays, a number of which have been translated into other languages and staged abroad. He’s also written several collections of poetry, short stories, and novels, including Námestie Kozmonautov (Cosmonaut Square, 2007), which was shortlisted for the Anasoft Litera Prize.
